Virtual tour of LIFE Elia-RTE sites
From now on, right from your desk, you can take a virtual visit on our sites : Couvin, Beauraing and Nassogne-Tenneville !
The website of the LIFE Elia-RTE project is regularly updated. Many 'news' that chronicle achievements in Belgium and France or exchanges with our European partners are posted on the « News » section.
A virtual tour of LIFE Elia's sites: a valuable tool!
To view actions of the LIFE Elia project along the grid with more precision, a new interface has been set up. It provides, for each site, all information on the actions that have been carried out. These webpages give an evaluation in terms of surfaces for each action (see description of 7 actions) and a dynamic mapping interface rich in data.
From "Project Sites" menu, we invite you to visit our sites of Couvin, Beauraing and Nassogne-Tenneville. And soon all sites on the 155 km network of ecologically managed in Belgium and in French sites!
How to browse our site and see maps and pictures ?
You can zoom into the smallest details of our achievements over the interface 'Leaflet', an opensource technology used by leading web platforms. Very intuitive and fluid, tips to use this interface are described briefly below.
From the site page, like Couvin for example. For a full-screen navigation and maximum comfort, use the link on top of the interface.
Exploration goes like this :
1. Map layers (OpenStreetMap or aerial photos) and displayed layers (pass the mouse pointer over the bottom left symbol layers to see all layers)
2. Access to information of each layers visible in a popup window (single left click on points, lines or polygons)
3. Access to geo-referenced pictures. Note that if several markers are superimposed, a small disc with the number of photos is displayed. Discover them by clicking on this disc.
Below mapping tools, a chart totals the surfaces of each action of LIFE Elia project or area which will remain in traditional management (rotary milling of vegetation or manual cutting ). Note that these surfaces are still likely to change significantly by the end of the project.
We wish you a pleasant visit !
